Castro Adobe Open House: The Pajaro Valley in the Mexican Era (CANCELLED)
September 12, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Castro family came here in Spanish times, but they built their adobe just as California was becoming our 31st state. Their legacies remain today, but the Castros’ heyday began with the Mexican land grant of Rancho San Andrés and the height of cattle ranching in the Pájaro Valley. Enjoy guided tours of the hacienda, fresh tortilla making in our restored cocina, and crafts and games for the kids. Join us for a unique opportunity to view our newest State Historic Park. Active construction site, open only during scheduled events. Free event. Limited parking; carpooling encouraged. For more information, call (831) 226-9669.
