Beginnings at Our Adobe

As your family begins a new year, please join us at this Open House as we imagine the Castros’ experience as one of the first Spanish families to make their home in California. Warm up with some traditional hot chocolate from our cocina and keep out of the cold in the comfort of our adobe, where we will share the stories of this pioneering family and our pioneering park. When we finally open for regular days and hours, you can say you were there before our official beginning as the Pájaro Valley’s own state historic park!
Free admission (donations gratefully accepted). Limited parking (carpooling encouraged). Active construction site, open only during scheduled events like this. Event made possible by Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks and California State Parks.
