COWBOYS, BULLS AND BEARS! OH, MY!!! Life on the rancho in the 1800s wasn’t easy. Vaqueros, or cowboys, were responsible for rounding up wild grizzly bears and bulls for the purpose of the “bull and bear fights.”

Come learn about the lives of people in Alta California at the Castro Adobe State Historic Park at our monthly open house! This 90-minute tour will give insight as to how the Castro family lived on Rancho San Andres in Mexican California. Tour the two-story adobe hacienda and enjoy presentations given by our docents, plus have some coffee and a tortilla on us!

This open house will be on Sunday, December 4, 2022. The first tour starts at 10:30!
